WITH WEAVING CONNECTIONS
Weaving Connections offers basket weaving programs that blend traditional weaving knowledge and sustainability building and promoting environmental awareness.

The Weaving Space will be a buzz with a range of workshops to choose from throughout the weekend. Come through during opening hours (see below), take a look at the program which will be displayed at the Weaving Space, and book in for your workshops throughout the weekend with the facilitators!
Weaving techniques and projects will be presented by skilled facilitators sharing their knowledge and skills. Special guests will be offering techniques from New Zealand, Bali and the Solomon Islands.
You will be able to choose from traditional plant based fibres, or funk it up and adapt techniques to incorporate contemporary weave-able would be waste. i.e. plastics, cables and copper wire.

KIM TAIT ( founder of Weaving Connections) - skilled weaver and facilitator from Northern NSW, has been involved with Island Vibe for the past 12 years.
NICOLE RAWARD - skilled facilitator from Northern NSW - teaching coiling and twining techniques.
FAITH TAWHAI - harakeke ( NZ Flax) weaver from the Sunshine Coast - will be teaching traditional Maori basketry.
KATHY DUNCUM - Maori woman - will workshop small baskets using Bangalow palm inflorescence.
WAYAN SURIANTA - from Nusa Penida, Bali - will guide you through the making of Hindu offering baskets used in prayer during visits to the temple.
JOY HAWKEYE - a South Pacific voyager - will create delights from coconut leaf.
DEBBIE LUKISI - from the Solomon Islands - will help you to make decorative festival hair garlands.
