ORIGINS
Soul, Funk, Reggae, Dub and Island Culture by the beach....

Minjerribah (Straddie) is undoubtedly one of the most stunning places in Australia, with miles of pristine surfing and swimming beaches, abundant wildlife and the perfect place to hold a music festival.
The festival was founded in 2006 by Morgyn Quinn (Director of Kuranda Roots Festival and underground music label Rudekat Records) in collaboration with Quandamooka song-man Josh Walker, artist Lisa Iselin, and Co-directors Libby Kilby, Ali Donnellan, Nikki Michail and Jess Latham. Island Vibe was soon able to expand on its environmental and cultural ideals to create a world-class music and arts eco-festival. Every year much care is taken to make Island Vibe one of the most hospitable and best-loved outdoor events in Australia and to keep our environmental footprint as low as possible.

The current team are a posse of battle-hardened event pros you may recognise from working on such events as Woodford Folk Festival, Bluesfest, Earth Frequency Festival, Splendour and Kuranda Roots among many others...
