Dear Island Vibe friends and family - it is with great sadness (and many many incredible memories) that we have decided to make Island Vibe 2024 our last event on Minjerribah (Stradbroke Island) for the forsee-able future. There are many reasons for making this decision - from the increasing expenses of creating an event on an island, to the difficulty in communication with the Island’s camping monopoly (Minjerribah Camping) and their decision to close their doors on the Island Vibe weekend. This decision has created a situation where it’s unsustainable to continue past 2024, and so.. this is our last party!! (don’t worry, there are plenty of other accommodation options available, read on dear reader)

If you have been to Island Vibe before, or are considering coming - please join us for our last shake a leg, and enjoy a wildly fun weekend of musical and artistic expression.

We are proud of the inclusive, family friendly event that has evolved on the Island over the last 18 years. We have hosted thousands of wonderful performers, bands, artists and cultural groups from around Australia, the Pacific region and from all parts of the world. We’ve seen a whole generation grow up in front of our eyes - we hope we have inspired you to explore a life of music and creativity. 

It has been a very rewarding experience for all the Island Vibe crew and we would like to thank the hospitality of the Quandamooka people and the NSI community for making us feel welcome since 2006.

 

Ok that’s the bad news out of the way - the good news is our 2024 line up is off the chain, and we want to make this a celebration to remember!

ACCOMMODATION

 

Island Vibe is fortunate to have a range of great accommodation options - from boojie resort style accom to natural immersion in wild Quandamooka country. 

For the traveller on a budget - we have 4WD and 2WD options. 

Grounded Permaculture have an affordable van and tent camping option approx 7km from the site. There is drinking water and toilets.

For the more adventurous, and still very affordable - Straddie Adventures have a 4WD accessible camp 5km down Main Beach, by a pristine freshwater swimming hole. They offer 4WD transfers from Dunwich and Point lookout to the campsite and to the festival.

What to expect:

 

3 musical and multi media stages, 2 workshop zones including a kids space, a boutique bar stocking delicious locally brewed beverages, a mouthwatering food court, craft stalls, an expanded art gallery, cultural groups and workshops from Australia, the Pacific Islands and Latin American communities, cabaret artists, shade and comfortable chill spaces to enjoy the action packed program. Island Vibe is welcoming to all ages, from toddlers to elders and is dedicated to creating a safe, friendly and exceptional vibe for all to enjoy.

 

Island Vibe is all ages, family friendly and free for kids under 12. There will be a food and crafty market and a licensed bar.
