

Yes Vibers - there’s lots more to the festival than great music, sunshine and a gorgeous island!
With full respects and thanks to the Traditional Custodians of the Quandamooka area and the entire local island community of Minjerribah, our Cultural Community Program has a stack of great stuff happening this year including:

MORE HIGHLIGHTS ::
The kids area & chill out space will be open Friday afternoon, and Saturday and Sunday until 6pm.
Free face painting, colouring in & play area provided, plus workshop times as follows on both days:
12- 1pm Kids Yoga
1- 2pm Boomerang Painting (1- 2pm Face painting)
2 -3pm Juggling Workshop (2- 3pm Face painting)
3- 4pm Acting Workshop
4- 5pm Poi & Twirling workshops (4-6pm Colouring & face painting)
FRI 4- 430pm Opening Ceremony & Welcome to Country with local Elders and local Yulu Burri Bah dancers.
SAT 5 – 6pm Welcome Ceremony & Cultural exchange with Yulu Burri Bah dancers, Siva Mai dancers, Jipajiroa (Vanuatu) and guests from Africa, the Pacific and beyond. We will be blessed by the presence of our local Quandamooka Elders, song, dance, and a traditional ‘smoking’ ceremony.
SUN 5 – 5.45pm Closing Ceremony & Traditional Dance with Yulu Burri Bah & guests.
This year we will be graced with some of the finest contemporary weavers from along the Eastern Coast of Australia. This collective of weaving artisans come from various backgrounds and want to share their passion and skill for Weaving with natural fibres and cultural reverence. Workshops on offer including Kids Weaving / Baskets / Bags / Hats + more. Times will be chalkboarded at the festival. The Weavers Collective acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Minjerribah / Quandamooka area and their sacred traditions and craft.
Local Indigenous artists from Salt Water Murris’-Quandamooka (SWMQ) Art gallery will have artworks displayed and projected each night. They will also be doing workshops & live painting demos. You can visit the SWMQ Gallery at 3 Ballow Rd, Dunwich (on your right when you drive off the barge towards Pt Lookout) or call them on 3415 2373.

Indigenous healer Ivy Smith returns to share the intuitive Pasifika healing & massage techniques passed down through her family for generations. Sign up for a session during the festival (11am- sunset). Pre-festival sessions are also available by calling: 0437 149 352.
Local Zen Thai Shiatsu practitioners will also be offering massage during the festival and a FREE ‘Partner Shiatsu Massage Workshop’ on Sunday from 2 – 3pm. For pre or post-festival massages call or text Lisa : 0411 311 621.
International tattoo artist Nehe Reuben returns once again! He will be offering consultation, design and an understanding of Traditional & Cultural Ta Moko pre-festival and during festival. Bookings or info call: 0437 149 352.
Local, national and international short films, documentaries and features will also screen from 8pm each night. These include selections from local filmmakers including Howling Planet and Plankton Productions plus special features;
